I’m proud to present my band, Pilot Knob Ridge.
Besides backing me on my own compositions, we perform a combination of
classic country, alt-country, folk, and bluegrass.

Although I grew up with a love and appreciation of music, I never attempted playing an instrument. After attending several music festivals I found myself drawn to the upright bass. So at the age of 48, and after a little encouragement from Mark, Janeen and my husband Pat, I decided to give it a try. In 2006 I purchased my bass, learned the basic chord structures from Mark and was hooked! There was/is no going back for me, the obsession and driving passion haunts me constantly. My influences include Ronnie Bowman, Alan Bartram, Mike Bubb and Todd Phillips, among many others.

I can not fathom a time that it will not be an essential part of my life.

My husband Mark has played guitar since about 6th grade and I've been exposed to music through him since that time. I've played a few chords on the guitar during our past 28 years of marriage, but never really took an interest, or thought I was capable of playing an instrument. He bought a mandolin in February of 2004 and for the first time in my life I had the desire to attempt to play. Both the look and sound of the mandolin attracted me. I'm not a natural, but I'm understanding music on a level I never dreamed possible.

After being content to only listen to musicians for 47 years,
I feel I'm finally moving on to a new dimension of music and life through playing the mandolin...
